At our next ConsciousCafe in Canterbury we will discuss and experience the power of poetry and healing. Poetry is an art form accessible to all and one that people turn to spontaneously at times of joy and sorrow. How can we harness its potential to bring more awareness, connection and depth to our everyday life?
Writer and trained poetry therapist Victoria Field will describe how both the reading and writing of poetry can be a source of solace and meaning. She works with many community groups, including people living with dementia and is a teacher and trainer. During this session, we will read together and do some writing with the emphasis on spontaneity and non-judgement. No experience necessary. Please bring a notebook and something to write with.
